Legend says that Shennong tasted a hundred herbs and encountered seventy-two poisons in a single day, until he found tea and was cured.
Later, Bai Ming, a descendant of Shennong, transmigrates to another world, where strange beings haunt the land and only tea can drive them away.
She’s supposed to use tea as medicine and spirits as companions, punish the wicked, and command the elements, all so she can get home.
But there’s one problem: she’s afraid of ghosts.
So the strange creatures of this world rejoice and corner her.
Bai Ming shrieks in terror. “Don’t come any closer!”
“Hee hee hee, poor thing. You could scream until your throat gives out, and no one would come to save you!”
The creatures shriek triumphantly and pounce on Bai Ming, who is weak, helpless, and terrified of ghosts.
The next moment, Bai Ming’s hand trembles as she flings a cup of dark tea at them.
“Aaah!”
Ghost A is enveloped in black smoke, clutches its face, and flees in panic.
Then a tea-hairpin brimming with spiritual energy jabs out, trembling.
Ghost B feels one side of its body go cold and watches helplessly as it’s sliced in two.
At last, Ghosts C, D, E, F, and G flee with their tattered bodies, most of them bitten off by her tea pet. “Help! Don’t come any closer!”
From then on, she uses tea as medicine and spirits as companions, punishing the wicked and commanding the elements.
One day, her tea servant can’t help asking, “Miss, aren’t you afraid?”
Bai Ming gazes up at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle. “I am.”
“Then will you still go after them when ghosts appear?”
“I will.”
Her tea servant: “...”
Got it.
His young mistress really is afraid, but she’s also really strong.
