Shan Yutang's Lectures on Ziwu Liuzhu and the Eight Methods of the Spirit Turtle

This book is an academic monograph by Mr. Shan Yutang, a modern acupuncturist in my country and a famous expert on Ziwu Liuchu, who comprehensively and systematically discusses the Ziwu Liuchu and the Eight Spiritual Turtle Methods to select acupuncture points on time. The whole book is divided into four parts: introduction, part one, part two and supplementary part. The first part is the key part of the book. It systematically discusses the origin of Ziwu Liuzhu, the relationship between Ziwu Liuzhu and the Five Movements and Six Qi, the outline of the stems and branches of the Five Movements and Six Qi, the concept, composition and clinical application of Ziwu Liuzhu, etc. In addition, a special chapter explains the theoretical origin of Ziwu Liuzhu Wushu acupoints and Shan Lao's rich experience in opening and matching acupoints. The next part focuses on the origin, concept, composition and clinical application of the Eight Methods of the Linggui, and a special chapter includes Shan Lao Ziwu's Liu Zhu and the medical cases of the Eight Methods of the Linggui. The supplementary chapter introduces the principles, composition and clinical application of Feiteng Eight Methods. A special chapter introduces Shan Lao's commonly used clinical acupuncture tonic and diarrhea techniques, with drawings showing his unique tonic and diarrhea experience. About the author: Shan Yutang (1902-1983), a famous modern acupuncturist in my country, the elder of Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (now Beijing University of Chinese Medicine), and the first person to study Ziwu Flow in the college. In December 1956, he was transferred to the Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and served as deputy leader of the acupuncture teaching and research group. He participated in the establishment of the acupuncture teaching and research group and participated in the compilation of the first "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Lecture Notes" for medical colleges since the founding of New China, focusing on teaching and clinical work.
