A Comedy Version of Dream of the Red Chamber

This adaptation of Dream of the Red Chamber retells the story of how the Daoist Vanishing Fool sought the way to immortality, along with the origins and background of Dream of the Red Chamber, in a modern and humorous style. It uses plenty of modern expressions and comic elements, including its playful use of terms such as "Daoist Vanishing Fool," "the mortal world," "the joys and sorrows of parting and reunion," and "the world's fickle ways." Its humorous portrayal of the "stone" as "unfit to mend the heavens, yet taking human form to enter the world" adds to the text's charm. This adaptation also humorously reveals human desires and their illusory nature, prompting readers to reflect on life's meaning even as they laugh. Meanwhile, changing the original phrase "perhaps to provide amusement" to "perhaps to provide a moderate amount of amusement" further highlights modern people's desire for entertainment in moderation and gives the text a more contemporary feel.
