We've Already Bowed to Each Other as Husband and Wife

Lin Jincheng and I have been sworn enemies since childhood.

Whenever we fought, his father made him apologize to me, and my father made me apologize to him.

Who would’ve thought the boy would drop to his knees and kowtow to me?

Afraid it would shorten my life, I hurriedly knelt down and kowtowed right back.

Then, just after I came of age, the Emperor waved his hand and simply arranged a marriage between us.

We bowed to Heaven and Earth, then to our elders. When it came time for the couple to bow to each other, neither of us would lower our noble heads.

My future father-in-law panicked. “Go on, kowtow! You two used to do it all the time when you were little!”
