The Past Dreams We Shared

(My first attempt at practicing my writing) [Business rivalry + two equally strong leads + love and hate + groveling for her forgiveness] Born into a wealthy family, Ji Yongchen is known throughout Jingjing as a perfect gentleman. Behind closed doors, however, he’s an opportunist who’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants. Yin Yuheng comes from a family of scholars. On the surface, she’s an obedient, sweet little flower, but in truth she’s stubborn, proud, and yearns for freedom. When they were young, the difference in their family backgrounds and her fear of people’s complex nature drove her to run from her feelings. He refused to let her go, willing to tear away his own disguise to force her to yield. Torn between reason and emotion, she wavered again and again, until she finally chose to flee and disappear. When they meet again, there’s a city steeped in sin, a tragedy from years ago, and a chance encounter from the past. She gradually loses her way, calculating every move and stopping at nothing to get what she wants. Trapped by love, he suffers the most unforgettable betrayal and failure of his life. They keep each other at arm’s length, trade cutting remarks, and torment one another. Can they find their way back to the love they once shared? The second volume involves business rivalry and other plotlines, so the pacing is slower and there are many clues planted for later.
