"Liang Shu" contains six volumes of chronicles and fifty volumes of biographies. It has no tables and no ambitions. It mainly records the politics of the last years of Xiao Qi in the Southern Dynasty and the historical events of the Xiaoliang Dynasty (502-557) for more than 50 years. Among them, twenty-six volumes are signed "Yao Cha Yue, Minister of the Ministry of Official Affairs of Chen", indicating that these volumes were written by Yao Cha, which accounts for almost half of the "Book of Liang". When Yao Silian wrote "Liang Shu", in addition to inheriting his father's manuscripts, he also referred to and absorbed the achievements of Liang, Chen, and Sui dynasties in compiling Liang history.
