The male protagonist transmigrates to another world, in the Guanyin star system. This place is much like ancient China.
The protagonist, Jing Xiaotian, is the foolish son of a landlord. He loafs around every day. His wife is Ning Cailin. Her father was convicted of a crime and exiled to the frontier, while his daughter was sold by the authorities to a brothel. Jing Xiaotian's father and Ning Cailin's father were close friends, and had arranged a betrothal between their children.
Jing Xiaotian's father paid a high price to buy Ning Cailin and her younger sister, Ning Caixia, back. Shortly after his son got married, the old landlord died.
The foolish son squanders money day after day until it's all gone. No matter how Ning Cailin tries to stop him, all she gets in return is a beating.
Seeing her older sister suffer, the younger sister goes to beg her brother-in-law for help, only to be beaten just as badly.
With all his money gone and himself destitute, Jing Xiaotian contacts the brothel, planning to sell the sisters back to it.
The sisters obey Jing Xiaotian in everything, begging only not to be sold back to the brothel. If that really happens, they'd rather end their own lives. The two sisters gather firewood every day and hand all the money they earn to Jing Xiaotian, yet he still plans to sell them. Just then, the protagonist, a kind-hearted pig with a System, transmigrates into this world and gives the sisters a happy life.
The kind-hearted pig says, “Since I've transmigrated here, I'll atone for Jing Xiaotian's sins and protect you both.”
