Civil Service Exams, Public Institution Exams, and Grad School: Life After Passing

These days, millions are taking civil service exams, applying for public-sector jobs, and sitting graduate school entrance exams. But does “making it ashore” mean you’ve succeeded? No, it’s only the beginning! You’ve just entered a higher level of the game, where greater challenges and harder stages await. This book is both a compelling story of personal struggle and a guide to avoiding workplace pitfalls, offering a clear-eyed analysis of the law of the jungle and the rules, both spoken and unspoken. The four protagonists, two men and two women, were all once “the kind of kids other people have.” They come from varied backgrounds: children of officials, children of wealthy families, children of laid-off workers, and ordinary people from rural families. But all are undeniably top students with good looks. That’s how they made it through the written and interview stages of public recruitment and graduate school exams, crossed the narrow bridge crowded with countless competitors, and secured a coveted “iron rice bowl.” But does making it ashore mean their careers will go smoothly? Follow them as they stumble into pitfalls, suffer hardships, shed tears, and endure setbacks, and you’ll see the dangers along the way when you’ve barely had time to ready your sword before being thrown into the martial world. You’ll understand that the road from university to a government office may look like a smooth path, but it’s not so easy to travel. Understanding begets compassion. There is no fantasy here, no wish-fulfillment drama, only honesty and authenticity. Through its portrayal of human nature, criticism of reality, acceptance of life’s unpredictability, and calm approach to setbacks, the author hopes to show you a true, objective picture of “life after making it ashore,” for you, a friend both unfamiliar and familiar, to read. I hope it can help you, whether you’re striving forward or feeling lost!
