[Conspiracies] [Open schemes] [Political machinations]

Pangu split the earth with his axe. Fuxi and Nuwa established marriage customs. Chiyou and the Yellow Emperor fought for the throne of the gods, only for the battle to end in defeat at Mount Buzhou. After a century of war between gods and demons, the Yellow Emperor abdicated, taking the blame. Humanity gained gods, then lost them, and so a new tale of creating gods began...

Humanity's troubles began the night Huansha, a woman who washed silk, was betrayed by Song Sanlang and threw herself into a lake. Then, strangely, more and more suns appeared in the sky. A shaman from north of Changyang Mountain prophesied that when ten suns rose together, all life would be devastated and the world would return to chaos...

Yayu, Zaochi, Jiuying, Dafeng... Demons and monsters that had vanished after the great war against the gods a hundred years ago reappeared in the human world. Wherever they went, people died sudden, unjust, wrongful, and agonizing deaths. Common folk wailed as corpses filled the land. Could it be connected to the strange signs in the heavens?

Strange events erupted across the land, and wronged spirits lingered for ages... Some whispered that it was because the emperor lacked benevolence.

Someone shouldered the burden of shooting down the suns to save the mortal world, but the entire battle to chase down the suns turned out to be a grand conspiracy.

A Daoist recorded this upheaval from beginning to end, calling himself Shu Maqian. The resulting work was none other than the Classic of Mountains and Seas~

Though the universe may have no end, people live beyond the seas that encircle the world.

Yin and yang shift and transform, and all things exist. Strange creatures are not truly strange, nor are they gods.

[The protagonist has both faults and merits. Don't read this if you want a brainless power fantasy.]
