Back in Republican-Era China as a Kept Woman

Shu Qianyin transmigrates into the body of a young mistress kept outside the home by the Fu family's young marshal. All she wants is to focus on her career and make a fortune. Every day, she racks her brains for a chance to run away, stuff money into a sack, and disappear. The Fu family looks down on her as a lowborn country girl who is unfit for polite society. They never imagined she was actually a princess of noble royal blood. In fact, she belongs to a branch of the imperial family the Fu family once couldn't even dream of marrying into. At first: Fu Zeshen: What's a young mistress, anyway? Let her stay. It's just one more person to feed. The Fu family is rich and powerful, so we can spare the grain. Shu Qianyin: If the young marshal doesn't come looking for me, all the better. I can enjoy some peace and quiet. Later: Fu Zeshen: Why does this young mistress keep worming her way into my heart? I'm getting more and more attached to her. What should I do? I want to marry her and pamper her at home before anyone else can set their sights on her. Shu Qianyin: Could you stop clinging to me all the time? I never wanted to marry into the Fu family in the first place.
