Introduction This book is the fourth volume of the first multi-volume history of the British Empire in domestic academic circles. This volume studies the history of the British Empire from 1783 to 1815, arguing that this was an important period in the development of the British Empire and a transitional period from the old system to the new empire, and from the old colonial system to the new colonial system. After the transformation, the British Empire established an empire with a broader territory and more flexible mechanisms after losing its American colonies, providing a new perspective on the history of the British Empire.
