When Tenderness Goes Wrong

[Reunion after years apart / entertainment industry / amnesia trope / sweet romance / one-on-one romance / happy ending] [Devoted, gentle superstar x optimistic, sweet makeup artist] Yi Liunian was the youngest Best Actor in the entertainment industry. Ever since his debut, he had been in the spotlight, with everyone praising him as someone blessed by the heavens. Wen Xing had attended the same school as Yi Liunian for seven years. In the end, whenever she saw him, all she could manage was the polite greeting, “Hello, Mr. Yi.” Then a car accident happened. Wen Xing lay in the hospital for more than twenty days, and when she woke, she saw a gentle, jade-like face. She took his hand, ignoring how stiffly he reacted, and said in her sweet voice, “Darling.” She had thought it was a story about an aloof idol falling from his pedestal, but it turned out to be nothing more than a misunderstanding caused by confused memories. After her memories returned, Wen Xing no longer dared speak to him. She diligently went back to playing her role as an insignificant nobody. Then heavy rain began to fall, leaving Wen Xing stranded at a hotel. Beneath the torrential downpour, an inconspicuous black SUV pulled up in front of her. The man kindly offered her a ride. When they reached her apartment building, Wen Xing thanked him politely and was about to leave when he caught her by the wrist. His expression was desolate. He forced a bitter smile, his gaze restrained yet gentle. The noisy rain could not drown out the tremor in his voice. “Do you really not want me anymore?” Theme: There’s nothing wrong with being gentle. I just came too late.
