Qing Transmigration: This Dad Is a Lost Cause

Kangxi, the emperor who had governed with diligence in his early years and achieved great things, was worn out in both body and mind in his later years by his sons' struggle for the throne. For years, Kangxi had often dreamed a hazy yet heartwarming dream. In it was always a little child who called him Father in a sweet, babyish voice, but he could never make out the child's face. The dream came again one day, but this time the child finally showed his face. Kangxi also learned who he was: his youngest son, born in the fifty-third year of Kangxi's reign, Aisin Gioro Yinling. At Kangxi's birthday banquet, the princes racked their brains to present carefully prepared gifts. Kangxi: “In this life, I have had few close family ties. Of my more than twenty sons, this one is the only one who truly understands me...” The princes: Yes, yes, of course. This is the only one of your sons who is really yours. The rest of us must have been brought here by a stepmother. When Kangxi fell ill and recovered, he remarked: Kangxi: “I recovered so quickly thanks to our Sui'an...” Little Sui'an, who only came by each day to pat his father's back and blow on his medicine, looked completely bewildered. So did the princes, who had come to pay their respects and tend to him every day, without fail, rain or shine. The princes: Yes, yes, it was all thanks to him. Your Majesty, you're so biased your heart's practically tucked under your arm... When the little dragon cub got into trouble, Kangxi couldn't bear to punish him, so he unleashed all his anger indiscriminately on the princes. The princes, stunned by the scolding: So this is somehow my fault too? There's no saving this father of ours...
