Miss Haruno smiled faintly, then swept her arms around my neck.

“H-Haruno!?”

“...Do you think something real actually exists?”

“...Who knows?”

“Then... let's find out~”

For a moment, I had no idea what was happening. Miss Haruno's beautiful face suddenly drew close, and her soft lips pressed deeply against mine, leaving my mind numb and unable to think.

“You idiot, don't just kiss me out of nowhere!”

“...Our contract is up for renewal. Shall we keep this going?”

“You're bringing that up again.”

“Of course. That's the reason for our relationship, after all.”

“...I guess you're right.”

“By the way, have you found something real yet?”

“Not yet... So let's extend our contract for now.”

“Mm, got it.”

After her brief reply, Miss Haruno lay down beside me.

“...Then, let's extend the contract~”

Haruno smiled at me with a probing look. Just like that time, no, just like always. Why did I always feel like she had me wrapped around her finger?

Honestly, how did things end up like this?
