A Moonlight Redemption

He was as tender as moonlight, not as fiery as the sun, but his love was as open and unrestrained as the rising sun. He said, “Qinghuan, the thing I’ve never regretted in this life is loving you. I’ll love you until the very end of my life.” But she said, “Jun Yiche, I don’t love you. Don’t meet me in your next life.” After meeting her, he was terribly unlucky. Everyone’s misfortune was because of her. All she wanted was to never be entangled in worldly affairs again. Later, beneath a plum tree on a winter’s day, she repaid him with the dance she owed him, but she could never repay the life she had taken. [The setting is entirely fictional.]
