Even an Old Lady Can Transmigrate: All I Can Do Is Talk Your Ear Off

Old Lady Li (Li Ningyu) had only gone out to buy groceries when she was hit by a car on her way home. She transmigrated to a fictional dynasty modeled on the Tianlong era, where war with the neighboring Chaoyang kingdom had left the borderlands in misery. She ended up in the body of someone with the same name, and the original owner's family had no choice but to flee. When Old Lady Li woke, she found she had nothing, except that she was more than ten years younger. Now she had to support her family and the whole village. What could she do? In modern times, she'd been an ordinary retiree with only a small pension. She was just a bit of a chatterbox: she had to talk every day, and not speaking was unbearable. What could she do? Then she spotted young men and women among the refugees and thought, What we're missing is a matchmaker! How could I let such a great opportunity go to waste? I'd have people to talk to every day, never be bored, and earn food and money too. Isn't this heaven handing me a living? So, during a rest stop on the escape, Old Lady Li started matchmaking every young man and woman in the group. To her surprise, several couples really did hit it off, and her reputation spread. Her daughter-in-law, Ye Yuan, said, "Mother, you're incredible! How did I never realize that before?" Her son, Wang Leifeng, said, "Mother really is amazing. Even a chatterbox can make money." Wang Wang said, "Wife, you've changed. You don't love me anymore." Everyone said, "If you want to know who the best matchmaker under heaven is, it's Matchmaker Li of Wangjia Village. Every couple she matches goes on to live happily ever after." The emperor said, "The problem that gave me such a headache is gone, the country is at peace, and the population is growing rapidly." With her wits and skills, she eventually succeeded in marrying the two kingdoms together and bringing peace to the land.
