Her name was Xie Weiyu, and her courtesy name was Shuting.
Was it chance or fate? First her soul crossed over, then she was reborn. She gained the experiences of two lifetimes and reaped the consequences of three.
She lived through three dynasties, and passed away in Cian Hall in the second year of Chong'an under Emperor Song Ming, at the age of eighty-four. On the eve of her death, Emperor Song Ming asked her one question: Was there anything in this life she regretted?
She replied, “In this life, I loved one person, hated one person, and wronged one person. Whether it was hatred or having wronged them, in the end, I helped father and son earn the illustrious name of ‘the Wen'an Reign.’ In this life, I owe the royal family nothing, but I do owe him a promise.”
