Synopsis

Beneath the world's ordinary facade, the disaster known as Honkai lurks like a shadow.

Why do those who should have reached their destined end still remain in this world?

How does a stubborn boy gradually shoulder the weight of responsibility?

The story of one civilization, and the passing of two eras.

Some hold fast to loyalty, while others are trapped by responsibility. But whoever they are, even if it's only for the path they've chosen, they should all declare war on Honkai. Are they heroes who guide the light of [Dawn], or traitors who abandoned their promises? Hypocrites or honest villains, who is right and who is wrong? This is the struggle of the Previous Era.

Those who wished to protect others could not turn the tide; those trapped by the past could not find reconciliation. Snow blankets the mountains, Heaven and Earth are cut off. I first met you amid willows shrouded in mist, and when the snow fell again, I bid you farewell. At the very end, can I call you “Master” one more time? This is five thousand years of vigil.

When I look back, the shadows of old friends appear once more. But when I recall the past, my old companions are nowhere to be found. Dawn hands the torch to the bright moon, to mark the past and open the road ahead. This is the undying flame of humanity.

The final chapter of fate draws near, and yet, thankfully, the stars still shine. Dawn, too, will eventually set in the west.

The setting sun sinks behind the mountains, yet still shines on me. Why should the fading wind mock an old kite?

We will all leave in the end. From here on… this is your world.

I wrested it from the hands of “God,” and now I place it in yours. I only hope… that all will be well.

(I don't recommend reading this book anymore. But if you're really curious, you can keep going. The author will start a new book set at a different point in time and then return to this story. Some of the settings and the contents of this book will be changed, and the parts that spoil things will be removed to avoid plagiarism.)
