"The Quiet Don" uses the ups and downs of Gregory's fate as a prism to reflect the bloody dusk of Cossack civilization in the torrent of revolution. Sholokhov used the seasonal cycle of the Don River to stitch together the eternal paradox of individual choice and historical violence - in the reflection of the White Army saber and the Red Army flag, Melekhov's military medals finally became the shackles of conscience. Aksinya's wild love and Natalya's saint-like martyrdom caused passion and ethics to spark existential sparks in the flames of war. When Gregory knelt down and kissed the black soil, all the heroic narratives were revealed in the windmill wreckage of the Tatar village as silent testimony of the iron law of history crushing human nature. This Cossack epic uses the compassion of the land to forge the smoke into an X-ray film of human conscience.
It took me a long time to finish reading this book, almost half a year. I stopped reading it for a while, but recently I was attracted by it and started reading it again. It is a Cossack epic. It made me understand the Cossacks, a special nation, between personal destiny and national war. , The individual seems to be pushed forward just like Grigory. He does not have a God's perspective and does not know that the Soviets will win later. He can only rely on his own judgment, but because his judgment is not always accurate, he can indirectly hurt Aksiniya and Natalia. The deaths of these two women were very sudden. They had obviously experienced so much suffering and pain, but in the end they still could not escape the tragedy of death. This is no longer a personal tragedy, but an established and inescapable tragedy.
Sholokhov, who was only 21 years old, wrote the undisputed great work "Quiet Don". Compared with many late-blooming writers, he is more like the one-in-one genius in the world's perception. Sholokhov's words are full of passion and vitality. He never tires of describing the Russian prairie, those flowers, the undulating grass and horses, and the Don River that always flows quietly, all showing soft brilliance. He showed the world his love for this vast land of Russia, a land full of suffering. Therefore, the characters in his works are also extremely full and vivid. Those distinctive personalities and behaviors leave a deep impression on people. You can feel that every character in the book is a heavy life. They really exist and they really die. No matter how much ink is spent on a certain character in the previous article, his death is natural and heart-wrenching. This is war, and this is the real suffering experienced by the Russian people. This is a tragedy. What Sholokhov wrote is not only the confusing life of Grigory, but also the epitome of the steppe Cossack nation. Many times, Grigory did not have the right to choose. He relied on his own knowledge to do what he thought was right, but was unable to resist the tide of the times. He joined the Red Army and returned home because he could not stand the indiscriminate killing of prisoners. He participated in the riots but did not want to completely fall to the White Army. He joined the Red Army but He was purged because of his past identity, and finally became a gangster on the Don steppe. He lost everything, and in the end only one son was left, and he even lost his wife and lover. At the end of the story, Grigory, a contradictory and charming character, gave up his escape and returned to his hometown. Aksinia's death and years of escape made his heart cold. Now he just wants to return to the world and live a quiet life. The First World War, the Soviet-Russian Civil War, internal rebellions, and countless wars trampled on the peace of the quiet grassland. The grass beside the quiet Don River was soaked with blood. This was the blood of the children raised by the Don River. Whose relatives, whose lovers, and whose husbands died. The war took away everything from Gregor, his family, his lover, and the ordinary days he longed for. He longed to drive the plow and command the oxen to work in the fields. He longed to be close to the land and stay away from the war. However, things went against his wishes. He was involuntarily involved in war after war, and he was getting further and further away from the life he longed for. After reading this book, I have an indescribable emotion that can't be calmed down in my heart for a long time. I am full of emotions and thoughts. Thousands of words combined into one sentence Hope for world peace!
The grassland will not leave its horses, and fate will not say goodbye to its people. Death and tears never left the land of the Don, and the Cossacks could not escape the suffering that made them Cossacks, Until there is no longer a boundary between Cossacks and death, and the quiet Don River is full of waves all day long.
The language is particularly beautiful and the story is very realistic. (Adapted from wartime notes, translated into a book into a moving version) A group portrait, showing no preference for anyone. Fate strikes every living character fairly. A very Russian novel. The biggest gain is that as the book progresses, one's own mind is tempered and grown.
Finished on January 26, 2025. This long scroll took me three days to read. It gave me a huge shock and made me see the sun!
The writing style of "Quiet Don" is real and vivid. The author Sholokhov depicts the customs and social changes in the Don River region through delicate writing. He is very successful in shaping the characters, especially the protagonist Gregory, whose complex experiences and character are impressive. This book is not only a literary classic, but also reflects the history and reality of that era. It is worth reading.
A good novel that can see the shadow of the Chinese revolution.
Very detailed description
Namo Amitabha, Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva
A great work that objectively records the helplessness and darkness of ordinary people in the social change movement...
Real, with a strong sense of imagery. The cruelty of war, the suffering of the people, self-struggle, and the doomed ending...
Good looking content
Ha
The descriptions are so vivid and vivid, each chapter seems to be immersed in the living environment described in the book. I don't need to go anywhere. I can just sit at home and read this book, and I can get such a good scenery and a picture of life to appreciate.

The plots are closely linked and the plot is exciting. It is really a good book [like] Tomato is also very impressive. So many published books are free [like][like][like][like][like]
It is an epic masterpiece. It describes people's daily lives, emotional connections, and the development of the war, as well as the description of everything in the surrounding environment. It is extremely sad to read. Time moves silently in the long river of history. The images in the book seem to appear before your eyes during the process of reading. Their pain and sorrow, joy and happiness all come from their true humanity at that time.
Peace is never the end of war, and human nature is not a towering tree. It is like grass in the wilderness, sometimes silent and sometimes growing wildly!

The characteristic of famous works is that people immediately enter the scene. There is a sense of intimacy, and the profound and delicate description brings the characters to life in an instant.
