Introduction to Hegel (Humanities and Society Translation Series)

"Introduction to Hegel" is a course taught by Alexander Kojève on Hegel's "Phenomenology of Spirit" at the École de Practical Supérieure in Paris from 1933 to 1939. It is not a pure introduction to Hegel's "Phenomenology of Spirit". In this work compiled from the notes of his students, Kojève incorporated his own existential ideas. So, in a way, this is a work of philosophy in its own right. Why is Kojève's interpretation of Hegel praised by so many people in 20th century works? This is largely because he reveals the contemporary significance of Hegel's thought and clearly tells people that we are moving towards the end of history in accordance with Hegel's ideas.
