Thoughts of Hanwei

On the first day of June, heavy rain fell from the sky, just like the feelings in Han Wei and Sikong Nanfeng's hearts, like tears silently streaming down inside. In the six months Han Wei and Sikong Nanfeng had spent together, the time had been brief, but for the two of them, who had been lonely since childhood, they had become each other's salvation. Neither Han Wei nor Sikong Nanfeng went out that day. After dinner, they brewed a pot of silver ball tea grown at home and sat beneath the thatched cottage's eaves. They quietly drank tea and watched the rain wash the courtyard's flowers, plants, and trees until they looked clean and bright. Raindrops pattered outside the window. “Can you play the qin?” Han Wei suddenly asked Sikong Nanfeng. “I... I can play a little,” he answered shyly. “Then play a tune for me, would you?” Han Wei said. Han Wei touched the jade spirit at her chest, signaling for it to conjure an ancient qin. Sikong Nanfeng stepped forward, tried the instrument, tuned it, and began to play. He wore blue-green robes with a layer of white gauze over them. His elegant figure blended seamlessly with the thatched cottage's decor, and the music flowed through the room. Han Wei was amazed! His fingers plucked the strings as he gazed at Han Wei with bright, shining eyes. Her image filled his tender expression, and his music stirred her heart like the strings of the qin. Han Wei couldn't help rising to her feet and dancing a beautiful dance to accompany his music. Watching her move so vividly, Sikong Nanfeng played with even greater passion… The hardest thing is longing; even parting is difficult. I knew nothing of longing, yet it made me long for you…
