The Player's Script

After the War of Resistance ended in victory, the younger brother, Shen Fang, reunited with his older brother, Shen Lin, in Nanjing. On the surface, Shen Fang was a hero of the Military Statistics Bureau returning in triumph. In reality, he was an underground intelligence agent for the Communist Party. Shen Lin, an official in the Kuomintang's Central Bureau of Investigation and Statistics, had always suspected Shen Fang's true identity, repeatedly pushing him to the brink. Shen Fang had to contend not only with his brother's investigation, but also with family troubles, difficult choices in love, and the probing of the “colleagues” around him. The dangers of his undercover work were impossible to avoid. For the sake of his convictions, Shen Fang persevered, braving a bloody struggle without gunfire and the constant risk of exposure as he used his courage and intelligence to complete one mission after another. When Shen Lin finally confirmed his younger brother's true identity, the corruption of the Nationalist government and the influence of those around him, including his brother, changed his entrenched views, and he joined the revolutionary cause. Shen Fang died heroically during an important mission. Shen Lin took up his brother's mission and continued fighting for the revolution.
