The Road of Yin and Yang, the Paper-Offering Shop, and the Path Home Deep in Yunshan

[Two male leads + no female lead + supernatural fantasy + “brotherly affection” + a little comedy] When I was born, a wandering old Taoist priest said I had descended from above, possessed a fated connection, and had an extremely light birth chart and an exceptionally hard fate. I would first bring misfortune to both my parents, then to all my relatives, until they were all dead. Unless I left home with him to cultivate, I would die young. I could only come down from the mountain after completing eighteen years of cultivation. My grandmother had waited years for her precious first grandson. How could she possibly let me become a monk? So she grabbed a broom and chased him right out. Then the strange things began… Within a year, both my parents died in car accidents, my grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer, and my grandmother hit the stove while cooking and broke her leg… When the old Taoist came back to my house, my grandmother promptly handed me, a little over one year old, to him. My uncles in the faith spent most of the year traveling, so in that huge Taoist temple, it was usually just the two of us. From then on, I spent my days meditating, chanting scriptures, and studying Taoist arts. It was a pretty carefree life. Until one day, my master said to me, “My time is almost up. I can no longer protect you. I left some things for you in the hidden compartment in my meditation room. Take them and go to the back mountain. I've already made arrangements for you…” With that, my master breathed his last. And so my story began…
