The Healer of the Lonely Valley
Sang Moling was orphaned from birth and raised by her Auntie Die’er, but her aunt eventually died from a deadly poison. After that, she studied medicine in the valley under Grandpa Xuanji. When he too passed away of old age, she was left alone to watch over the empty valley and its medicinal herbs.
One day, a group of riders shattered the valley’s peace. Their leader, the Prince Regent, had come seeking Master Xuanji in hopes of treating an old leg injury, but found only Sang Moling. Seeing how much the injury tormented him, she treated him with the skills she had learned in the valley. She brewed his medicine on schedule every day and administered acupuncture with precision, never neglecting her duties.
After more than a month together, the Prince Regent’s leg gradually healed until he could walk normally again. As he looked at the cool yet thoughtful young woman before him, her focused gaze while treating him and her gentle movements as she handed him medicine stirred unfamiliar feelings in his heart. Sang Moling then took the initiative and said she wanted to go down the mountain with him to see the world beyond the valley. The Prince Regent agreed at once.
But after they descended the mountain and entered the bustling capital, they had to part ways. The Prince Regent had to return to his residence immediately to deal with a backlog of government affairs, while Sang Moling wanted to search the marketplace for rare medicinal herbs. Before leaving, he wanted to exchange contact information, but urgent official business interrupted him. All he could do was watch her depart, his heart full of memories
