War of Resistance: Rising Through the Ranks from Guard Company Commander

Li Feng transmigrates to 1939 and becomes the company commander of the guard unit at the Eighth Route Army headquarters repair shop.

Although Li Feng holds the rank of company commander, the whole company has only seventy or eighty men. Some are veterans disabled in battle, while others are still just children. The able-bodied men who should form the backbone of the unit make up less than a third.

Their weapons and equipment are even worse. The entire company has not a single light or heavy machine gun, and they have only a little over thirty rifles and pistols altogether, mostly old tube-loaded rifles or crude homemade single-shot rifles.

Looking at his company, Li Feng is on the verge of tears.

They have no food, no weapons or equipment, and their men are all old, weak, sick, or disabled. It is a classic unit with none of the three essentials.

When Li Feng is once again woken by hunger in the middle of the night, his stomach churning, he realizes that fighting the Japanese can wait. The first thing he needs to do is find something to eat.

As someone used to having clothes handed to him and meals served, and to buying whatever he needed at the market, Li Feng is at a loss when told to make things himself.

Fortunately, Li Feng discovers that he has awakened a golden finger.

It lets him acquire skills, and by steadily grinding away at them, he can raise their levels and earn System rewards.

“No point talking about it. I’ll get grinding first!”

And so, a genius appears in the Eighth Route Army: a super-genius who can do everything except give birth, and is the best at all of it!
