This book relatively completely reflects Li Zongren's life from chapters such as Li Zongren's youth, his army education period, his early days in the army, the unification of Guangxi, from Zhennanguan to Shanhaiguan, ten years of national disaster and civil war, eight years of war of resistance, and from victory to defeat. Attached to the article is a statement published by Li Zongren in the People's Daily in 1965. The original manuscript of this book was written between 1958 and 1962 when Li Zongren was living in the United States. It was supplemented and revised in conjunction with the English version brought back by his son from overseas in 1979. It is the most systematic and detailed long reading of Li Zongren so far.
