I’ve Read Too Many Wish-Fulfillment Stories on Zhihu

Just when I was about to explode from working overtime, my dad sent me a message on WeChat.

“Sweetie, our house got demolished, and we’re getting ten million in compensation.”

Right then, my boss came over to rush me about a proposal.

I immediately fired him.

“I’m done with this job. I’m going home to inherit the demolition payout.”

But when I got home, Dad told me he’d been reading too many feel-good stories on Zhihu and wanted to see what it would be like for real.

I was close to tears, so I went to my boss’s house that very night to apologize!
