After our trip to Leicheng, I thought everything had finally come to an end. But while we were recovering, we got word that Boss Xie had gone missing. The final clue was on a blackboard in the basement of the Xie residence.
What exactly is in Inner Mongolia? My destiny.
Those words had been written on the blackboard in chalk. When we found it, a thick layer of dust covered the surface, making it look like it hadn’t been used in a long time.
What exactly is in Inner Mongolia? I looked at the photograph of the grassland pinned to the blackboard and couldn’t help thinking of what had happened before in the Badain Jaran Desert.
Could it be that it wasn’t over yet? I asked Xiao Miao. She shook her head. “Everything that had to do with me is over. This time, I’m not the main character.”
Yet her tattoo lit up once again. We stared at each other in silence. As the quiet stretched on, I looked once more at the photograph on the blackboard, at the waist-high grass and the endless sea of clouds, and felt a familiar bewilderment.
(This is the second book in the Through the Sand series. Its timeline falls before Sea of Lanterns. The male lead is Wu Xie, and the female lead is the heroine of Through the Sand. The story alternates between the two leads’ perspectives, with the male lead’s perspective taking center stage. The main text has little focus on romance and emphasizes the plot. Their relationship is more familial than romantic.)
I've just read the beginning of this book, so I'll rate it first. The previous one was good, but the ending felt a bit fantasy, and there were some holes left unfilled. I hope there will be a book with a good ending for Xiao Miao and Li Cu [crying]

All I can say is, it's awesome.
