Genshin Impact: Keeping Watch Over Fontaine’s Scattered, Shattered Justice

Many years later, as he faced the execution squad, Luo Xia would recall the distant evening when he witnessed sin engulfed in flames. Luo Xia committed 742 murders, and escaped capture every time. He had passionate affairs with three women, but none of them ended happily. Single-handedly, he reduced the Fatui's elite forces to a mere three digits, killed three segments of [The Doctor], severed [The Balladeer's] head, and gravely injured [The Knave], yet somehow survived. He rejected the Fontaine authorities' offer to recruit him. Throughout the years he was active, criminals from south to north and east to west lived in fear of him. He vanished without a trace in his later years, leaving behind only bloodstains like butterflies beside the statue of the Hydro Archon Egeria. After all this, the only memorial to him was a hat named after him, the Luoshan Hat. Yet by his own later account, even that had never crossed his mind as he set out to kill [The Doctor]. “Furina, everything in this world just keeps repeating. Toss a murderer into a pigpen, and all that will be left is bones gnawed clean and maggots. Smash a schemer into a bloody mess on the concrete, and their lackeys will burn the documents cleaner than the corpse beneath the moonlight. Hang vampires wrapped in silk from lampposts, and before dawn, new beasts with cigars in their mouths will take over the office. “So what can we do now, Luo Xia? Am I supposed to keep acting?” “No. I want to tell you that even if criminals multiply like cockroaches, even if people look on with mocking eyes, even if the laws of the land become nothing but a machine for putting on a show, even at the end of the world, I will... Never compromise.”
