He’s Easy to Mess With

[Two male leads + a chatty top who has a mouth for every spare thought × a cold-faced, twisted-up-in-knots bottom + college campus + mutual healing + both each other's first and only + bittersweet, slow-burn happy ending]

The first time Ye Xi saw Lin Sui, Lin was being beaten up by someone. With his usual carefree attitude, Lin Sui called for help. Ye Xi walked away, then came back, only to find himself staring at Lin's green hair, earrings, and “cat abuser” reputation. The two troublemakers got into a minor scuffle and became enemies.

They met again that same day. Ye Xi was dealing with an older female student when she asked what he thought of their new teammate, whom he hadn't met yet. “Seems okay,” he said. Then he turned around and found Lin Sui, the guy who “seemed okay,” grinning at him like a little jerk.

That night, Lin Sui was passionately kissing a red-haired girl at a street corner. When they finished, he looked up, raised an eyebrow, smiled, and waved at Ye Xi. Ye Xi thought, I might as well go blind...

And that wasn't all. The very next day, Lin Sui announced in front of a crowd that he was single. Ye Xi thought, He's the worst kind of scumbag.

Ye Xi swore to himself that he'd stay away from him!

But when Ye Xi took his dog to the pet hospital for a checkup, he saw Lin Sui holding the cat he'd supposedly “abused” not long ago. It had already gotten a little chubby. Looking miserable, Lin Sui complained to him, “I rescued it, and it still hisses at me.”

Then one day, while they were eating, the red-haired girl showed up holding hands with a guy.

Ye Xi: “?!”

Lin Sui: “Couples who show off their love don't last.”

Finally, Lin Sui asked, “Do you know what it means when you touch a man's Adam's apple?”

Ye Xi said, “Of course. The esophagus and carotid arteries are on either side. If I press there, your brain won't get enough blood, and you might faint.”

He paused, then added, “Kissing it shouldn't have that effect, though.”
