A Safe-Return Message

Ding Qi, a cocky, cool-headed business owner × Yuan Liang, a proud, aloof engineer Brotherly vibes + tooth-rotting sweetness + both are each other’s first 1] When Yuan Liang was told Ding Qi had gone to prison, it hit him like a bolt from the blue. The world seemed to darken around him. Was it because I didn’t run fast enough that day, and the green citrus sea-salt soda went warm? Was the ukulele I bought him not pretty enough? Otherwise, why didn’t he come? From the age of thirteen, Yuan Liang had thought about him for seven years, counting the days on a calendar as he waited for him to come back. Why would the top student in Yanda’s law program be sentenced to seven years in prison? He didn’t even try to defend himself. It had to be a wrongful conviction… After his chosen major was changed without his consent, Yuan Liang enrolled at Minchuan University of Finance and Economics, then dropped out to retake the entrance exams. “Dear Justice, you’ll be safe.” 2] Stars glittered across the deep-blue sky, and the universe seemed to rise and turn in the depths of the night. Everything was so quiet it was as if there were no sound at all. “Why did you get drunk?” Ding Qi asked softly, carrying Yuan Liang on his back. Yuan Liang’s head was fuzzy. With his eyes closed, he mumbled, “There’s a fire burning inside me. It hurts.” “Does Xiao Qingjian have someone he likes?” “Mm~” “Then why don’t you tell them?” “My pride only lets me go this far.” “Then… can your big brother become a ball of fire?” You have always been, and will always be, a living flame. 3] He had tasted success and failure, but never gave up his dignity. Whether people looked down on him or despised him, he would always be the person I loved most.
