A Passionate Kiss Against the Light

Heir to a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners vs. esports heartthrob Xu Yuan and Lin Jiahao meet after accidentally swapping suitcases at the airport. As luck would have it, Lin Jiahao lives right above Xu Yuan. Because of his career, Lin Jiahao often stays up late gaming, while Xu Yuan has always kept a regular schedule for meals and sleep. After Lin Jiahao arrives, Xu Yuan starts suffering from insomnia, and her world becomes a more interesting place. Little by little, Xu Yuan gets used to having Lin Jiahao around, while Lin Jiahao gradually falls for her. “Lin Jiahao, are you having a water fight at home?” “A pipe burst. I don’t know how to fix it.” “I don’t drink or smoke, and I stay away from gambling, drugs, and all that. What’s wrong with having a cup of milk tea!” “Do whatever you want.” “Xu Yuan, what kind of person do you like?” “Someone a little more lively, I guess.” “Then take a look at me. Am I lively enough?” Xu Yuan stays up late for the first time, just so she can get a ticket to Lin Jiahao’s match. She wants to see him win the championship. “Lin Jiahao, I want to give you a golden rain that belongs to you alone.” “Thank you, Xu Yuan.” “Lin Jiahao, why me?” “Xu Yuan, you might not know what I’m like. I’ve never liked anyone before, not once, from childhood to now. Once I chose you, that was it. I’m not your parents. I don’t have a list of other options, A, B, C, or D. You, Xu Yuan, are my only choice.” “Lin Jiahao, you go toward the light. I’ll always walk toward you.” “Lin Jiahao will slowly make up for everything Xu Yuan has missed out on.”
