The Impostor Saint of Medicine

Lin Yan, a doctor trained in every specialty, transmigrated and found himself from the start in a mass grave, with nothing but half a tattered medical book in his arms, too hard even to use as toilet paper.

In the waning years of the Great Jing dynasty, plague ran rampant. The powerful treasured their lives, while ordinary people had nowhere to turn for medicine.

As an intern who hadn't even earned his medical license, Lin Yan had to face the whip of the executioner and the pit where the dead were buried. He squared his shoulders and made up a story about the tattered book:

“My master lives in seclusion on a sacred mountain. He taught me secret arts that can save lives. This illness can be cured!”

Physical cooling, saline solution, CPR, homemade disease prevention...

Relying on his modern medical knowledge, he brought people back from the brink of death time and again, even as quacks from the ancient world mocked him.

From a destitute refugee to a renowned physician across an entire province, from honored guest in the houses of the wealthy to a fake miracle doctor in the capital.

Trembling with fear, Lin Yan donned the guise of a divine healer and climbed step by step to the pinnacle of power.

“I'm really not a miracle doctor. I just want to survive, and, while I'm at it... cure this chaotic age.”
