The Buddha told us that repentance requires cutting off the emotions of hatred, love, jealousy, and flattery, and cleaning the heart. This is repentance. It doesn't mean going to the Buddhist hall to cry, it means repenting. Crying is a way to vent your emotions. After crying, your heart feels very calm. That's because you are tired from crying and can't think of anything else. Don't think that you will feel so peaceful after kneeling before Buddha (or God), crying, and repenting! Get inspiration from God! I have been blessed by the Bodhisattva! In fact, it is just tiredness, not the inspiration of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Believe it or not, a few hours later, after he had eaten enough and had enough strength, his temper would come back again! Note that it is necessary to understand what true repentance is.
After repenting and cleansing your mind, you can practice samatha, vipassanā, and jhāna again. The "Perfect Enlightenment Sutra" says: "To seek victory, there are three kinds of pure contemplation." However, most of us are on the contrary. Without seeking repentance, we want to stop, practice contemplation, and practice jhana. As a result, the more we practice, the more chaotic we become. We can't stop, and we can't be still. First seek repentance and be pure and kind in your heart. When you reach the state of kindness, the Chinese say "doing good is the most joyful", it will produce joy in your mind and arrogance in your body. Then you can seek concentration, and it will be easy.
