Synopsis

A modern Chinese novel with more than 300,000 words. Mao Dun started writing in October 1931 and completed it on December 5, 1932, with a total of nineteen chapters. Some chapters have been published in "Novel Monthly" and "Literary Monthly" respectively. For more than half a century, "Midnight" has not only enjoyed a wide range of readers in China, but has also been translated into more than a dozen languages including English, German, Russian, and Japanese, producing extensive international influence. His resourcefulness and decisiveness are impressive. The plot of the story has ups and downs and is very enjoyable to read. It feels like personally experiencing the changes of that era.
