During the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo, a famous painting by Song Huizong, Auspicious Cranes, fell into the hands of Yoshioka Yasuna, a lieutenant general and staff officer of the Kwantung Army. When the Anti-Japanese United Army learned of this, they sent Wu Ming, a guard battalion commander, and his men to Changchun to seize the painting. But a spy embedded within the Anti-Japanese United Army discovered their plan and reported it to the Kwantung Army. The two sides set traps for one another, matching wits and courage. Other forces gradually joined the fray, setting off an epic contest of espionage, treasure theft, and military conflict, with schemes within schemes and traps within traps. Who will emerge victorious?
Wu Ming, the protagonist, has endured a difficult life. He grew up as a street urchin and turned from thief to bandit, but he still has a conscience. How will he be influenced by historical events and the people he encounters, gradually change for the better, and become a hero?
Too many memories and straying from the topic. It would be better not to write about the plot of stealing paintings, but to write about Wu Ming directly.
Super exciting. Support the author.
