Life in the Mortal World Is a Dream

All the things of the mortal world are no more than a dream. During the Three Kingdoms era, Shu Han had an elite force called the White Feather Army, once Liu Bei’s personal guard. After Liu Bei’s death, the army was stationed at Yong’an under Chen Dao’s command. The younger generation of officers, Murong Xuefei, Ji Rumeng, Wei Yunhong, and Pu Yuan, followed Zhuge Liang on his northern campaigns. When Nüwa mended the sky, seven multicolored stones remained, each containing boundless spiritual power. Four have already appeared, one in the hands of each of the Three Kingdoms. Shu Han is weak. Whether it can find the remaining three stones will prove crucial to the course of the war. While searching for them, Ji Rumeng meets Sikong Fan, and the two fight side by side through a series of trials. Sikong Fan and several members of the White Feather Army become comrades who would lay down their lives for one another. Their journeys take them across all three kingdoms and into the battles of Liangzhou. But the road is far from smooth: they repeatedly find themselves in mortal danger, and the multicolored stones are lost and won back again and again. Along the way, Sikong Fan, Ji Rumeng, Murong Xuefei, and Wei Yunhong make many friends, and also endure betrayal and deceit. They grow stronger on the battlefield, fighting for the dream of restoring the Han dynasty. Beyond the powers of the Three Kingdoms, a hidden fourth force is also stirring up the turmoil from the shadows. After a series of painful partings and deaths, the survivors’ bonds grow even stronger, and Sikong Fan finds love along the way. Yet nothing is perfect: many give their lives for the dream of their homeland. Those who survive carry their companions’ dreams with them and press on.
