Tales of Dragons Across the Four Seas

Introduction to the classic wuxia novel The Four Seas and the Dragons:

The Four Seas and the Dragons was written in 1966. The “Two Fiends of Minshan,” Zhu Que and Tu Wei, plan to hold the “Heroes of Two Generations Gathering” to display the martial arts of the “Minshan School” and dominate the martial world. The gathering is so named because it invites the finest martial artists from across the land to bring their disciples and compete for two extraordinary honors: “Supreme of the First Generation” and “Supreme of the Second Generation.” The title of “Supreme of the First Generation” is naturally expected to go to one of the renowned masters known as the “Seven Friends, Three Fiends, Fourteen Evils, One Wonder, Two Monsters, and Two Immortals.” The contest for “Supreme of the Second Generation,” meanwhile, is between the disciples of these celebrated masters. The five favorites are “Jade Dragon of Seven Wonders” Huangfu Duan, “Red Corpse Witch” Zhu Lin, “Jade-Faced Butcher” Jin Ruoyu, “Death-Dealing Third Young Master” Wanqi Ying, and “Compassionate Jade Maiden” Sikong Hui, collectively known as the “Five Talents of Heaven and Earth.”
