The Jade Maiden of Fengdu

The Confucian hero Zhang Lingfeng travels to the Zhong Kui Temple in the western suburbs of Fengdu City to meet Long Tianwu, the “Strange Old Man of Xichuan.” There, he encounters Dou Lingbo, the “Jade Maiden of Fengdu.” Dou leads Zhang to a courtroom, where he is put on trial before Judge Bao Xiaosu, the “Iron-Faced King of Hell.” Zhang has been framed for a massacre: he is accused of killing Chai Chong and raping and murdering Chai Chong’s two daughters. Another daughter, Chai Yuzhi, seized the murderer's “Jade Ball” as evidence to present to a righteous champion. The ball is a treasured heirloom of Zhang’s school. After repeated questioning, it is finally proven that someone impersonated Zhang and framed him. Long Tianwu, meanwhile, knew a few clues about the case and was murdered to silence him.

To rid the martial world of a menace and clear his own name, Zhang joins forces with Dou Lingbo and Chai Yuzhi to find the real killer. Along the way, they encounter two villains: Ling Qiaoling and Tang Sanbian, an outcast of the Tang Clan known as the “Lord of a Hundred Poisons.” The three narrowly escape Tang Sanbian’s lethal hidden weapons, but ultimately make it through unharmed. Ling Qiaoling and Tang Sanbian seize the chance to flee.
