Honkai Impact 3Rd: Protecting Shenzhou

[I’ll try to keep the characters in character as much as possible. If anything feels off, please point it out. The first 23 chapters are all about improving the character fit, so you can read them or skip them. If you do read them, remember to store them in your brain’s storage area. The real Honkai Impact 3rd Previous Era begins afterward.] In my previous life, my name was Jing Yuan. But an Aeon who loved a good joke sent me to the Previous Era of Honkai Impact 3rd. Before granting me power, it gave me a task: “Destroy the Honkai and become the Aeon of Erudition.” Somehow, I was reborn in Shenzhou. I started studying military strategy in depth at the age of five, mastered every weapon by ten, though I was especially skilled with the crescent-bladed saber, and became a general at twenty, founding the Cloud Knights. After that came the height of my career. [Setting change: In this book, a general is equivalent to an emperor. In other words, the protagonist excels at both civil and military affairs: he has to review memorials from across the realm as well as lead troops into battle. You could say he never gets a moment to rest.] “People often say that General Jing Yuan’s appearance has remained unchanged for a thousand years, and that this is why Shenzhou has enjoyed such a golden age. But others say that General Jing Yuan has occupied the highest position for too long, and that it’s time for him to step down. Without exception, these opinions are all judgments of the general. But I’m more inclined to agree with the first. Though the latter cannot inherit his position, the former is virtuous enough to bring about a golden age.”
