The Heartbreak Dart

A golden dart from the Han dynasty bears a martial arts secret engraved upon it. Wherever it appears, the martial world goes mad with desire. Fifteen years later, Shen Yanfei, son of Shen Jian, knows nothing of what happened before. Fleeing from gambling debts, he reaches Seven Star Ridge, where the Asura Fan recognizes him as a martial arts prodigy seen only once in a century and takes him as a disciple. Qin Yuqiao, daughter of Qin Xuanzhen, falls in love with Shen Yanfei at first sight and gives him a Cold Cloud Pill secretly refined by the reclusive master Jin Chang Gong of Mount Huang. Various underworld figures covet the Heartbreak Dart and join forces to launch a surprise attack while the Asura Fan is in seclusion. Shen Yanfei, Qin Yuqiao, and the others suffer a crushing defeat. In desperation, Shen Yanfei hides in the boudoir of Shi Keqing, a sick young woman confined to bed. Thinking quickly, he disguises himself as a woman and shares her bed, deceiving the old demon and making him leave. Later, Shen Yanfei is also lucky enough to take Yangzhi Jade Dew, the sacred medicine of Shi Keqing’s school. Returning to the martial world, Shen Yanfei happens to meet Wu Xiaoqin, heir to the Golden Dragon Banner. Wu Xiaoqin is quiet and aloof, and had once planned to withdraw from the world, but his honeyed words win her heart. Shen Yanfei takes Wu Xiaoqin home to visit his mother, only to learn that Qin Xuanzhen is his great enemy. On their way back, Gu Cong, a traitor to the Qingcheng sect who lusts after Wu Xiaoqin’s beauty, plots to make their boat strike a reef and sink. Wu Xiaoqin is taken back to the nunnery by the old nun Baiyun. By a strange coincidence, she meets Shi Ketian, who has become pregnant before marriage, setting off a storm of jealousy. After being separated from Wu Xiaoqin, Shen Yanfei masters the eighth stance recorded in the Asura Secret Manual. On the day of the gathering of heroes at Mount Qingcheng, Shen Yanfei displays one extraordinary technique after another, defeating the underworld’s leader, the Asura Fan, with strange moves such as the Five Bright Hands and the Heavenly Demon Dance. He becomes an unrivaled hero and the leader of the martial world. The Heartbreak Dart, source of the world’s turmoil, sinks forever into the abyss with the old nun Baiyun. The romance in this book is deeply moving and heart-wrenching, bringing readers to tears.
