Boss Jia's Emperor Dream

This story reflects the management challenges faced by some private enterprises today, as well as the workplace realities of modern employees. At 26, the young heir Jia Zhenlong officially took over as general manager. The company only had forty or fifty employees, but even the king of ants was still a king. Jia Zhenlong felt that his life would be different from now on. That night, he had a dream: his father was over two hundred years old and had led an army to carve out a kingdom for him. As the legitimate eldest son, he had been named crown prince from childhood. That day, his father said he was already 250 years old, and his dynasty had lasted 250 years as well. He wanted to enjoy his retirement and planned to abdicate in Jia Zhenlong’s favor, becoming the retired emperor. In the dream, Jia Zhenlong was dazed and confused. He couldn’t figure out how his father could be 250 years old while their dynasty had lasted 250 years. Had his father started conquering the world the day he was born? Never mind. Inheriting the throne was good news, no matter what. Emperor Jia wondered how he could ensure the Jia family’s legacy endured for generations, for at least another 250 years. Two lots of 250 made 500 years. Dynasties that survived for 500 years were rare in history. Sun Wukong, who had wreaked havoc in Heaven, was trapped beneath the Five Finger Mountain by the Buddha for only 500 years. Five centuries of changing fortunes, five centuries of enduring legacy, five centuries of Jia rule... From then on, Jia Zhenlong was Boss Jia by day and Emperor Jia by night. He switched between his roles as boss and emperor every day. As time went on, he often found himself confused, unable to tell dream from reality or whether he was a boss or an emperor at any given moment.
