However, historians and people in later generations were more interested in the empress' biological mother - the empress who was only a noble concubine during her lifetime and became a posthumous title after her death.
It is said that the queen was behind many of Emperor Yongxi's shocking actions. She was originally the unpopular second daughter in the family, but she made an exception and entered the Eastern Palace instead of the eldest daughter who was supposed to enter the Eastern Palace. Before entering the palace, few people knew that since Emperor Yongxi ascended the throne, she had been favored by the emperor and was especially good at dancing. Because she loved crabapples, Emperor Yongxi built a crabapple garden for her in the palace. She had two daughters and one son. Unfortunately, she lost two children one after another. Only the youngest daughter (the empress) grew up safely. The pain of losing her son was like a sharp knife piercing her heart, but she died early.
Emperor Yongxi fell in love with her deeply and died. In order to save her who was seriously ill, he searched for good doctors all over the world, worshiped the gods day and night, and knelt down thousands of steps just for a glimmer of hope, but in the end he was unable to save her. He used his iron fist to clear the obstacles for his daughter to seize the throne, and devoted all his preferences to her. When the empress could take charge of her own affairs, Emperor Yongxi chose to die in love and follow the empress.
