He had planned to resign himself to a lifetime as a lowly, obedient slave.

But after enduring one injury and act of abuse after another, his entire outlook on life changed.

He refused to remain beneath others, to be ordered around, or to spend his whole life in bondage!

And then there was her, a girl who had appeared from nowhere, dressed strangely and speaking in riddles.

She was so timid that even the slightest fright could bring tears to her eyes and make her tremble all over.

Yet she possessed incredible abilities, couldn’t bear to see anyone suffer or grieve, and was so kind that she couldn’t even bring herself to kill an ant. She was his chance to rise to power.

So he willingly stayed by her side.

Carrying her on his back became the easiest thing in his life as a slave.

Cherishing her taught him what it felt like for his heart to ache and flutter.

Caring for and protecting her gave him a sense of fulfillment as a man.

And having her became the firmest purpose of his life.
