The Great Schism of the Northern Mo Dao

Across the entire martial world, one man claimed the title of greatest martial artist with a single swing of his broad saber. Another loved wine and swordplay. With one move, “The waters of the Yellow River come from the heavens,” he made the martial world envy him for three hundred years. A Confucian scholar had already reached the summit of Mount Tai, where all other peaks lay beneath him, yet all he could think about was restoring his fallen kingdom. In the end, he turned from the Confucian way to the path of tyranny and took his own life in the martial world. A one-armed monk, once ruler of the Western Regions’ Demon Sect and the greatest martial artist alive, abandoned his wife and children to become an Arhat of the Golden Body. Another was a great hero who served his country and people, saving them from fire and flood, yet never lived to see the nation united. One scholar found the Way through martial insight at Longchang and became a sage in a single step. Another held a collapsing empire together, only to have his own people eat his flesh and boil his bones. The protagonist, meanwhile, laid bare both the imperial court and the martial world, yet willingly became a watchdog for an ordinary family of commoners.
