On this day, humanity incurred the wrath of the gods.
A hundred suns descended from the sky, scorching the earth.
All things burned, and life came to an end.
The world was swallowed by endless flames. As far as the eye could see, there was nothing but ash.
Deathly silence.
Hushed stillness.
Not a word.
In the boundless wilderness, a glimmer of green struggled to poke its head out: a blade of grass.
It swayed in the wind.
So frail it was laughable.
The god looked at it and smiled.
With a wave of the hand, the god plucked down ninety-nine suns and melted them into the earth as fertilizer. Then, with a point of a finger, thousands upon thousands of gentle rains fell. All things began to sprout, and new life emerged from the boundless land of ashes.
