Historical Lord-Building Novels
I'm talking about stories where you play a lord and recruit historical civil and military officials. So many of them contradict themselves. Early on, they say everything should be decided through military merit, but the further you get, the more it all comes down to stats. What's the point of writing it that way if it all ends up as a chaotic battle between golden, orange, and divine-grade gods and demons? It all turns into a mess. So what does it even mean to be a lord?
