Tempting the Vicious Hound

[Never forgets a grudge × fiercely protective and possessive] Jiang Ni seemed born to misfortune. Abandoned at an orphanage, he suffered through hardship until an elderly couple adopted him. Then the old man died of illness, and the old woman was taken abroad by her son. Her family tossed Jiang Ni some money as if they pitied him. He raised a hand and gave a cold, mocking laugh, then flung it right back in the young man's face. The young man flushed with rage, his lips trembling. He was selfish and vain, sharp-tongued and narrow-minded, fickle in love, skilled at disguising himself, capricious, and a habitual liar. But he had a face so beautiful it was almost too much, its sickly pallor touched by an almost bewitching allure. Having had a hard life, Jiang Ni hated retracing his steps. He picked out a sugar daddy with good looks and a promising career, but after playing around with him for half a year, he started to get bored. He promptly claimed the engagement of a foolish man who had come looking for his birth family, then transformed himself into a social climber, hoping to become the fiancée of the eldest young master of the Yan family. The eldest young master was furious that the other party was an orphan from a small town. His admirers all rushed to defend him, but Jiang Ni was the only one who delighted in watching them fume. His pursuers were so angry they lost all composure. Yet, relying on the engagement papers in his hand, the young man threw his weight around despite the fact that his claim had never been recognized. Though lowborn, he sat high above them on the table, his rebellious gaze looking down on everyone. His bare, jade-white feet dangled, a red cord loosely tied around his pretty ankle bones. He was like a little white swan with its head held high, or a gorgeous venomous snake. Jiang Ni was satisfied with everything. He even thought he wouldn't mind if things stayed this way forever, if only an old lover hadn't come knocking. His old lover, the one who was like a rabid dog.
