The Spring of Snake-Bubble Grass

Why is it called The Spring of Snakeberries? This book is mainly about the girls in one family, born in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Like the snakeberries growing on the ground, they are inconspicuous and seem insignificant beside other flowers, plants, and trees. Yet through wind, rain, and sunshine, they keep striving to grow, even blooming and bearing fruit. These girls are the same: they are not afraid of hardship or toil, and they too hope for love and a beautiful life.
