Zhu Erniu's parents are framed and killed in a car accident. The perpetrators pursue him in search of the phone his parents left behind, and during his flight, Erniu stumbles upon Gao Village, a thousand-year-old town. There, he unwittingly saves Gao Cuilan from a parallel world. To repay him for saving her life, Cuilan offers herself to him. The two later decide to hide in a poor mountain village and make a living by farming. But the village head's dim-witted son falls for the beautiful Cuilan, so they have no choice but to flee by train to a big city in the middle of the night.
